Every year all of us at St Mary's think about what contribution we will make to the life of our church - both in terms of our time and the ways in which we can help out, and also in our financial giving.
Jesus spoke more about money and possessions than any other subject. He was concerned about how followers and believers used money and possessions. He wanted them used in a fair and equitable way. He also recognised that there was a need to fund the work of the temple in and at which people worshipped God. Our annual stewardship review is our chance as a community to think carefully about that.
Our reasons for giving are not through compulsion or through any kind of duty. We give because when we do we become more like Jesus who gave us everything. Our giving back to God, through the Church, is a key part of our lives and Christian witness. Whether we give solely to our local church, or to many other places too, all our giving reflects the generosity of God to us.
This section of our website holds all the materials produced for this year's campaign.
If you are a member of our community, we would very much appreciate you filling in a stewardship questionnaire, which you can do online, or if you prefer you can download it here or pick up a copy at the back of church. This is a very easy way to offer your time and talents. If you would like to find out a little more about what different areas of church life involve, then have a look at our directory. It has the names of leaders for each area that will always be glad to discuss things with you.
As well as helping practically, we ask all our church members to consider helping financially too. If you currently give, thank you. In the past year your contributions have made a big difference. Read our stewardship report for more information. Please remember that if your circumstances have changed, you will need to renew your Gift Aid Form. If you have moved house or changed name, please could you sign a new form and give it to the office (you can download a form here or pick one up at the back of church). If you wish to stop gift aiding your contribution or if you have stopped paying tax, please could you let Deborah in the office know.
Please do review our stewardship report which explains where our money comes from and how we spend it.
