SYNERGY IS A COMMUNITY OF YOUNG PEOPLE
BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH GOD AND EACH OTHER
Synergy is primarily for ages 13-18, however, for info on events for younger people aged 10-12 please visit our ROCKSOLID page : )
Synergy meets in three main ways :
1. SYNERGY
wed's (normally 1st + 3rd) @ St Thomas' Church -7.00-9.00pm (map)
The whole group meets together twice a month to discover more about God and worship him, as well as socialise with each other. This is like a contemporary youth church service, which primarily is run by the young people themselves.
Led by our youth worship group we have time to thank God through singing or other creative ways. We also discover together more about what it means to be a Christian - this is interactive and can include talks, group time, drama and art
At this event we also have time for big screen simpsons, air hockey, table football, PS2 and lots of chocolate
2. SMALL GROUPS
wed's (normally 2nd + 4th) @ 38 Grove Rd - 7.00-9.00pm
It is also important as well as meeting as a big group to also spend time in smaller groups, so that we can support one another better. So for the other wednesdays in the month, we have peer led small groups . These give the opportunity for further exploration of living the Christian life, in a context which encourages eveyone to share and be more open and honest. These groups are led by young people with the support of an adult mentor. There is also time for social time, games, some worship and lots of harribo.
If you do not belong to a small group already and are unsure of where is best for you to go, please contact Rob Hayden
3. SOCIAL EVENTS
Finally, of course it is important to meet up and just do something social and fun. Throughout the term we organise a handful of great social events to come and also invite your mates to. Previously we have done things such as Quasar, bowling, movies, food wars and summer + winter Balls
as part of Synergy we also run Rock Solid for 11-13yr olds
ROCK SOLID
Tuesdays @ St Michael's Hall - 7.00-9.00pm
Part of Synergy but aimed at those a little younger who are in yrs 7 or 8 at school.
ROCK SOLID is a lot of fun and madness which at the same time helps you to get to know God a little better. A typical evening includes social time to use the big screen playstation, air hockey, table football, pool table and other facilities.
Once a month (normally the first week of month) Rock Solid goes to Synergy @ St Thomas' to be with the rest of the youth community
Also Once a month (normally the last week of month) Rock Solid organise a social activity, such as movie night, scavenger hunts, sports evenings, trips bowling etc.
