St Mary's is situated in the heart of the old town of Beaconsfield and draws a large congregation from the town and surrounding areas.
Facilities include hearing loop, large print books, wheelchair access and toilets in our church hall, The Fitzwilliams Centre.
The church is usually open during the day, so that you can sit and pray or light a candle.
Visitors are always very welcome to join any of our services.
WORK STARTED!
Thanks to the prayers, donations and fund raising activities as part of the Raise the Roof 500 appeal, the work on the first phase of replacing the Church roof started on October 15th 2007.
Raise the Roof 500 - An appeal to raise £500,000
St. Mary and All Saints Church has been a meeting place for Christians in the parish for over 800 years. Generations before us have maintained and adapted the church to reflect the mission of the Christian community, while meeting the needs of others who use and have an interest in the building.
In 1869 our Victorian forbears refurbished the church adding the side aisles and the lead roof. However, this roof is now leaking in places and urgently needs to be renewed. There are also other repairs and renewals that we need to address.
An estimated breakdown of the main areas of cost is
i. Roof and Timber Repairs £280,000
ii Tower repairs and enclosing the north porch with new exterior doors. £65,000
iii. Renewing the heating system. £50,000
iv Internal repairs, plasterwork and redecoration £60,000
v. Architects and other fees £45,000
Total needed £500,000
To achieve these goals, I am asking for your support and financial help and an Appeal has been launched which will continue until November 2007.
Every gift and every fund raising activity will be greatly appreciated.
I invite you to consider prayerfully and carefully the ways in which God has blessed you and how through your giving you can contribute to meet the challenge of maintaining our church for the community now and in years to come.
Please respond generously.
May God bless you and make you a blessing to others. "
