I'm New to Beaconsfield: An Introduction to Life at St Mary's
Welcome to Beaconsfield! We hope that you will be settling well into the town and finding your way around. This page gives you a brief overview of life in our church and will direct you to other pages for more information.
We are situated in Beaconsfield Old Town, on the main roundabout – click the link to find a map of us.
Each week, over two hundred and fifty people gather for worship at St Mary’s, ranging in age from 0 – 95. Our main service is our 10am Sunday parish eucharist, where there are hymns, Bible readings, prayers, a sermon and the celebration of communion. Children have their own classes, but join us for communion at the end of the service. Our other services range from the very traditional, using the Book of Common Prayer, which dates back over four hundred and fifty years, to our monthly informal Family Services and Messy Church.
We also conduct over one hundred weddings, baptisms and funerals each year, so if we can help you with any of those services, please follow the links to the pages on our website or contact our parish office.
We also have an excellent purpose built hall called the Fitzwillliams Centre. The main hall can accommodate 120 people for a meal with a fully equipped kitchen and there are three further meeting rooms upstairs. It is widely used by the community for regular events, as well as hosting parties.
We have strong links with our church school, St Mary & All Saints Primary School, Maxwell Road. OFSTED inspectors have judged it to be an outstanding school – you can follow the link to their website here. We are part of a team of Church of England churches with St. Michael & All Angels, Warwick Road and St. Thomas', Mayflower Way, Holtspur.
