St Mary & All Saints Church Beaconsfield

Latest News

We are updating our records of all our church members to include address, phone number and email addresses, together with names and ages of children under 18. If anyone has not already done so, please would you complete a sheet from the back of church and return it to the Parish Office. Many thanks, Jeremy.

Following on from this, is there anyone with computer skills who would be prepared to spend a few hours helping in the Parish Office? Please contact Pam (676690) if you might be interested.

Beaconsfield Country Fayre Monday August 30th 11-4 p.m.

This is the fourth Fayre - the last three were so successful and a great deal was due to St. Mary's congregation, not only in your donations but also in the time you gave. There is a list at the back of the church for you all to sign up for a stint on one of the stalls or marshalling. Please help us make this Fayre an even bigger success. A third of the profits goes to the Friends of St. Mary's which helps to maintain this beautiful church of ours. Any questions contact Sylvia Jones 01753 889384

800th Anniversary Celebrations

2010 marks the 800th anniversary of the first known incumbent here in Beaconsfield. We are planning to celebrate it by publishing a booklet being written by Robin Pedler based on detailed research of various national and local archives about the Vicars and Rectors of St Mary's. Robert Tobin has been invited to write a chapter on the general ecclesiology of the period! that is the Church's theological understanding of itself.

On Saturday 25 September we are arranging an evening concert to be given by the Choir of St Brides at which a selection of music of the last 800 years will be performed! starting with Latin plain chant and bringing us up to the present day. Then on Sunday 26 September, John Pritchard! the Bishop of Oxford, will be leading a celebratory evening service to commemorate this anniversary. More information will be given in due course but this is advance notice of our plans to mark this important year!
